Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a challenging year, managing just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.
The win also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one championships at 21 various competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His retrieving approach and regular reactions on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to approach the net and play aggressively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five games to go ahead.
The competitors swapped breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.
Moutet saved four early opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, he secured the title with a rally at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
